01 · Summary

The short version

Three ads need to change this week.

Overall

High risk

Two ads promote a prescription-only weight-loss medicine, one by name with a discount code. A carousel promises a set weight loss in 30 days, and the weight-loss page says the treatment is safe for everyone with no side effects. Your hay fever ad is also sending paid clicks to a broken page. Every rewrite is in this report.

Why it's a problem

Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine. It can't be advertised to the public by name, and calling it "weight loss injections" with a price, as your Google ad does, is still advertising it.

The rule

Prescription-only medicines must not be advertised to the public. The same ban sits in medicines law. Rules: CAP Code 12.12; Human Medicines Regulations 2012, regulation 284.

Where to change it

Meta Ads Manager: the "Autumn weight loss" ad, primary text, headline and image. Google Ads: "Weight loss" campaign, headlines and description. Remove the discount code from the landing page as well.

Today

Pause this ad and end the LARK30 code for prescription medicines.

Why it's a problem

Ads can't promise a set amount of weight loss in a set time, and saying it takes no effort gives the wrong picture of any weight-loss treatment.

The rule

Weight-loss claims need evidence, and ads must not claim people can lose a precise amount in a stated period. Rules: CAP Code 13.1 and 13.9.

Where to change it

Meta Ads Manager: "Dress sizes" carousel, primary text and all three cards.

Weight management, with a prescriber's assessment

Our prescribing team reviews your health questionnaire and medical history before recommending any treatment. Every medicine can cause side effects, and we explain them before you decide.

Why it's a problem

No medicine works for everyone or is free of side effects. The page every weight-loss ad sends people to makes both claims.

The rule

Health claims need evidence, and medicines must not be described as working for everyone, absolutely safe or free of side effects. Rules: CAP Code 12.1 and 12.19.

Where to change it

Website: the opening lines on /weight-loss.

Medicines need a proper assessment by a prescriber. Saying no consultation is needed suggests that step is skipped. Rules: CAP Code 12.2 and 12.2.1.

Keep it this way

New ads go live every few weeks. With ongoing checks we look at anything new or changed and send you the fixes, from £245 every 4 weeks. No contract.

07 · Scope and method

How this check was done.

What we looked at

Every ad running on 22 October 2026 in the Google Ads Transparency Centre and the Meta Ad Library, and the page each one opens: 8 items in all. Each was captured as it appeared that day.

What we checked against

The UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising (CAP Code), especially sections 3 and 12. FCA consumer credit rules (CONC 3). GDC guidance on advertising. The Human Medicines Regulations 2012 on prescription-only medicines.

How risk is rated

High: the kind of wording the ASA has upheld complaints about before. Medium: open to challenge, depending on your evidence. Low: worth tidying. Money leak: not a rule, but costing you clicks.

What this report isn't

It isn't legal advice, a regulator's opinion or ASA clearance, and no outcome is guaranteed. You decide what to publish. Clinical claims, prices and finance figures need confirming against your own records.
